Cumulus Announces Integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud to Simplify Quality Management

Cumulus Digital Systems, an award-winning Quality Management System (QMS), today announced an integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud®, a portfolio of software and services that combines advanced technology, a builders network and predictive insights for construction teams. This development marks a milestone in industrial work quality, enabling field workers to perform work with clear guidance and instant feedback, while empowering supervisors to manage performance in real-time.

Cumulus’ integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud enhances construction project management by linking quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) functions captured in Cumulus with comprehensive project documentation managed in Autodesk® Build, Autodesk® Docs, or BIM 360®. Inspection Test Reports (ITRs) are automatically generated in Cumulus as work progresses, and then exported to Autodesk Construction Cloud, streamlining the documentation process and ensuring compliance with all standards and procedures.

In addition to improving productivity by automating document management, the integration also ensures that all project information is readily accessible. Research from Autodesk and FMI found that construction workers spend over 14 hours per week on non-productive tasks such as searching for project details. By simplifying the creation and storage of key documents, the integration unlocks significant efficiencies for project teams looking to achieve better productivity and work quality.

“This integration enables construction leaders to take control of work quality by ensuring procedure adherence for any work activity,” said Cumulus CEO Matthew Kleiman. “Demand for new infrastructure is skyrocketing, so operational efficiency is key to meeting demand. Our technology upskills workers and provides total transparency into quality, compliance, and productivity—even in offline environments.”

“Access to timely information helps prevent cost and schedule overruns on construction projects,” said James Cook, director of industry and technology partnerships at Autodesk. “Pushing Inspection Test Reports created in Cumulus into Autodesk Construction Cloud ensures that all team members can readily access this essential documentation. Furthermore, project managers can attach these reports to RFIs, Issues, and Forms within Autodesk Construction Cloud, enhancing collaboration and minimizing miscommunication.”
